Here we have a super cool pre owned Fender Contemporary Series Jazz Bass Special. Made in Japan in 1985. Pearl White finish. Serial number E502373. These basses were made famous by Guns N Roses bassist Duff McKagen. The Jazz Bass Special features a Precision body shape with a Jazz style neck. 34″ scale length with a 1.5″ nut width. The pickups are a P/J setup with Volume, Volume, and Tone controls. A 3- way toggle switches handles the pickup selection. The neck on these are painted gloss Black which just adds such cool look. The neck we assume is Maple with a 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard. The neck profile is a very comfortable C shape. Not huge but not a skinny neck. All hardware is Black including Schaller strap locks. The bass is a great weight at 8lbs 13oz. The bass has just been strung with DR Pure Blues 40-100’s and is playing great. The truss rod is working but is near the top of its range. The frets are in very good condition with minimal signs of wear. No divots or issues. Cosmetically, the bass has some nicks, marks, indents, and scuffs. No major chips though. There is one small indent on the center of the back of neck behind the 6th fret. You can feel it but it doesn’t hang you up while playing. Please see all photos. Overall, this bass is a monster. Great Precision and Jazz tones. Simple electronics and an easy player. This bass comes with a new Gator Transit series bass. Great package and ready for the gig. Thanks for looking and happy buying!
