They have what I would consider a huge selection, especially for a local place. All price points, too. Beginner, advanced, professional. Not to mention, it's sort of an institution with how many classrooms they had in the back for 1:1 music lessons. Any instrument. Just a great local place that I'm glad to have supported. Oh, and after "santa" bought my acoustic, the man who helped us gave my daughter one of those maraca/shaker eggs, she's 2, so that was just a nice punctuation mark on the experience. Murphy music is excellent when repairing my guitar. They have decent prices compare to a lot music stores in long island. I do recommend MM since Sam Ash is done.

The owner, Jeff, is extremely knowledgeable and really takes the time to help you out. He walked me through different pedal options and even offered to let me bring in my board to test things out before buying. They've also got a great selection of gear, especially basses.
