Here we have a vintage B.C. Rich B-30 Dreadnought Acoustic guitar.  Made in the 1970’s in Los Angles,CA USA. Bernie Rico was making acoustics by hand from the 1960’s into the 1970’s.  This one is really cool.  It has beautiful quilted Maple back and sides.  A Mahogany neck and what looks like an Ebony fingerboard.  The top is Spruce.  The guitar weighs a beautiful 4lbs 10oz.  This guitar sounds huge..truly, we were very impressed.  It has a low end like a cannon.  It resonates vibrantly against your body when you strum it.  The B-30 acoustic does not have a truss rod.  The neck is straight with a small amount of relief.  The guitar plays beautifully.  It is strung with 11-52’s and holds tune very well.   Cosmetically, the guitar has some general wear and tear. There are small marks and indents on the top.  The back and sides have some finish checking or cracking.  The back of the neck has some small marks that you can feel but do not hang you up while playing.  The tuning machines are Schaller and are working nicely.  There are finish chips on the top of the headstock.  General wear for its age. C’mon, its 50 years old!   The guitar at some point must have had a sound hole pickup installed because the bottom strap button hole has been enlarged to fit an endpin jack.  We have installed a “NoJak” endpin from StewMac.  This fills the larger opening with a standard endpin strap button.   If you choose to put a pickup in the guitar, just know that the endpin is already widened to fit.   The guitar comes with its original yellow plush lined case.  The case is in good shape with all latches and hinges working nicely.   All in all, this guitar seems to be a bit of rarity with the quilted Maple back and sides.  Haven’t seen another one like it.  An awesome piece of history.  Please see all photos for detailed condition.
